About Louise

I first discovered Pilates in the 90s while working as a producer at an advertising agency in London. The long hours spent behind a desk and in an edit suite left little time for exercise, resulting in a nagging backache. My sister, a newly trained Pilates teacher, encouraged me to give it a try. I organised my schedule and committed to weekly studio and mat classes. The difference in my posture and the energy I felt after each class amazed me - I was hooked!

Over the years, Pilates has helped me manage sciatica during two pregnancies and maintain my knees, hips, and breathing technique while training for the London Marathon and more recently, it has also been invaluable in navigating the symptoms of perimenopause.

After a career break to raise my children, I decided to qualify as a Pilates teacher with Body Control Pilates®. As well as my matwork and reformer qualifications I have completed a Low Back Pain Practitioners course with Body Control &  Back4Good, I have attended numerous conferences with Body Control and Balanced Body 'Pilates On Tour' and completed workshops including 'Fearless Spine', Pilates for Runners, Bone Health and Pilates for Older People. Now, with a decade of teaching experience, I feel incredibly fortunate to share the many benefits of Pilates with others.
